Gameplay

Tips
Three whistles are in this game. Two of them are in the world. One is found in 1-3. To find it, you must jump on one of the white platforms. Duck for six seconds and you will appear to be behind the bushes. Just run to the right and eventually you will run into an area that has a chest. Open the chest and you will receive the whistle.
The second one is in the mini castle. The leaf is a necessity. It is close to the door. Fly over it and then push up. Once done, walk over the chest and the whistle will appear. Mario will have two whistles if done correctly. If the boss is not defeated, the lock in the world map for World 1 will remain.
The third one is in World 2. You will need a hammer item to get through. In the second portion of the map on the upper right corner, you will see a boulder that can be broken. Break that and you will be in the secret third area. There will be an enemy to defeat and once done, the whistle is yours.
There is technically World 9, but it only serves the purpose of selecting a world. To get to World 8 quickly, use two whistles.
Overall
Super Mario Bros. 3 is one of the single best Mario games that have ever come out. To this day, it is still an enjoyable experience. Sure, it can be challenging but that’s not a bad thing. You are likely to find it on compilations and even on the Nintendo Switch NES Channel. It is recommended for anyone to give it a try.
