Retro Gaming Reviews: Tiny Toon Adventures (NES)

Tiny Toon Adventures is a game created on the NES.  They utilize the characters from the Tiny Toon Adventures cartoon from back in the 1990s. Of course, this is under the provision that there is an idea of what to do with it.

Montana Max has captured Babs Bunny. Buster Bunny has to rescue her. It’s straightforward to understand the plot.  While many games have extensive plots as today, sometimes getting straight to the point is the best approach.

The gameplay is solid and straightforward.  On each level, you will get to select a partner.  Buster can have either Plucky, Dizzy, or Furball.  When playing, it’s important to take notes and strategize on which character to have as a partner as it can make the levels easier.

The third part of each level is where you must face the boss of the level.  Once you defeat the boss, you get a key.  It is linear and you will go through each level sequentially.  Pick your partner and proceed to the next level.

The player will not fight any boss in the fifth level. The level is near the end of the game, and it has to do with finding the dodo birds.  Collecting all the dodo birds results in a key being generated. Doing so will result in completing the level.

Concerning the final level, it’s the same process as before.  Defeating the final boss will show the final scene. The credits appear and you see the end of the game.  In terms of detail, it’s solid for the time.

Tiny Toon Adventures is a fun game to play.  It’s one that you may be able to find online easier than trying at a physical store.  If you happen to find it and have a working NES, then you should check into the game.Â
